Well the mystery authors certainly didn’t hibernate their winter away. We have lots of Spring New Releases from
many of the big names in this genre. James
Patterson’s latest addition to the Women’s Murder Club series The 8th Confession comes out next week.
Bestselling author/lawyer Lisa Scottoline has a new mystery Look Again.
Although set in Philadelphia, this terrifying thriller is a departure away from her Rosato and
Associates series, but will still
keep you up late at night listening.
And one of my favorites,
Ariana Franklin, has released another historical fiction mystery in the Mistress of the Art of
Death series, Grave
Goods.
Finally, everyone’s favorite investigator, Jack Reacher is back with Lee Child’s latest title, Gone Tomorrow.
Call or email today to reserve any of these hot releases, or they just might be gone tomorrow!

Lilly and Julie were
fortunate to meet Tamin Ansary, author of Destiny Disrupted: A History of the World through Islamic Eyes.
Khaled Housseini, author of The Kite Runner endorses this book saying “Ansary has written an informative and thoroughly engaging
look at the past, present and future of Islam. With his seamless and charming prose, he challenges conventional wisdom and
appeals for a fuller understanding of how Islam and the world at large have shaped each other. And that makes this book,
in this uneasy, contentious post 9/11
world, a must-read.” That review and the subject matter are enough to make me add this title to my pile of books to read.
And for those science buffs like Lee, who enjoyed Sean Carroll’s book Making of the Fittest, his new title is now out,
Remarkable Creatures: Epic Adventures in the Search for the Origin of the Species. This book is
filled with fascinating stories about
some of the movers and shakers in evolutionary biology.Spring has arrived and with it comes our national past time.
While we are still rooting for our Sharks, the baseball season is now underway. And for all of you who love or hate the Yankees (which is everyone), former
Yankee manager Joe Torre has teamed up with Sports
Illustrated author, Tom Verducci in The Yankee Years to
tell his story of how he led the team to 12 straight playoff appearances, 6 American League
pennants and 4 World Series titles.
In the Personal Growth and Business genres, the focus has been on happiness and coping with today’s economy. Always
popular author, Wayne Dyer’s latest, Excuses Begone! How to Change Lifelong, Self-Defeating Thinking Habits,
will hit the shelves in June. Peter Schiff’s timely new business title, The Little Book of Bull Moves in Bear Markets: How
to Keep Your Portfolio Up When the Market is Down, will be popular with investors.
Some other upcoming titles include:
• Be Happy!: Release the Power of Happiness in You by Robert Holden - April
• Living Without Stress of Fear: Essential Teachings on the True Source of Happiness by Thich Nhat Hanh –
May
• How We Decide by Jonah Lehrer
• The Predator State: How Conservatives Abandoned the Free Market and Why Liberals Should Too by James
Galbraith

Fiction |
 |
Whether you’re scoping out good
listens for this summer’s beach vacation or want some literary fiction, here are some ear catching titles that will be arriving
soon.

Nora Roberts is starting a new romance series, a quartet, called the Brides series. The first one,
Vision in White comes in next week, and has been described as “the wedding event of the year.”
For more romance, with a touch of mystery, try Fern Michaels newest release, Mr. And Miss Anonymous,
should fit the bill.
There are two books that I will be loading onto my iPod as soon as they are released. The first is Jamie Ford’s debut novel, Hotel on the
Corner of Bitter and Sweet. This novel about Asian Americans during World War II has met with rave reviews and
looks like a perfect book club selection.

The other book is The Angel’s Game, by author Carlos Ruiz Zafon. Zafon is best known for Shadows of the
Wind which was on the best seller’s list all around the world.
Some other exciting new releases include:
• The Women: A Novel by T.C. Boyle
• The Last Dickens by Matthew Pearl
• Stone’s Fall by Iain Pears

Young AdultSci Fi
Fantasy |
 |

Three of my favorite young adult series are releasing their final books this May.
• Stoneheart Series: Book 3 – Silvertongue by Charlie Fletcher and rumor has it that this one will also be
narrated by Jim Dale.
• Pendragon Book Ten: The Soldiers of Halla by D. J. MacHale
•
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Book 5 – The Last O lympian by Rick Riordan
All three series are strong, well-written fantasy series and have been big hits among children and adults. If you haven’t
listened to any of them, give them a try!
More and more audio publishers are carrying science fiction titles. Sci-Fi classics are being masterfully narrated. One
popular series with a new release coming is Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files series. Book 11, Turn Coat will
release at the end of this month, simultaneously with Proven Guilty, Book 8 and White Night, Book 9.
Small Favor, Book 10
released in 2008. If anyone sees a pattern to this, please let me know. We can’t wait to complete the series!
There are more new titles coming in every week. Please come by and check them over.
